There will be a group of us at each of the monthly Scots Music Group ceilidhs at St Brides. Have a look at our About this Meetup page We're (hopefully) a friendly alternative group to the serious competitive clubs to meet and ride with other local mountain bikers.
Hi there! Welcome to the Scottish Hillwalking & Activities Group. We're a friendly group that was founded to be run by the members for the members. When we started out, we majored in hill walking, but we now also organise a range of activities throughout the year. Walking We organise a wide range of walks year round including single Munros, multiple Munros, scrambling over ridges, weekends away and a selection of low level longer walks, pub walks and summer evening walks. These shouldn't be co …
What's so special about joining Glasgow IVC instead of just being a Meetup member? For starters it's FREE to join! Membership will give you access to the monthly Grapevine newsletter with additional events (e.g. we never post events in members' homes on Meetup) or events which were not posted on Meetup and members' contact details. As a full member you will also be entitled to discounts on costs for some events. The IVC is a very friendly club. Members have made lasting friendships, gone on h …
Hi there and welcome to the Outdoor Activity Group. (OAG) Why Don't You Just Switch Off Your Television Set and Go Out and Do Something Less Boring Instead? No doubt many of you will remember this from the TV program many years ago. It was a program for Kids back then but the concept has never been more relevant today and not just for the kids. Do you want to get out of the house more, get more exercise, have some fun and meet new people? The group has been setup to help you do just that. We …
No idea if this group will work, but if it does it'll be down to you guys, the members. All other groups that I'm in, have a few organisers and assistant organisers, running around, doing a fab job organising great events for folks to go and do. Here I propose something a little different, you guys create your own events - perhaps stuff that you'd be doing anyway, but suddenly think hey wouldn't it be nice to have someone come along with me, with everyone being an event organiser. (remember to …
Hi there, As there doesn't seem to be a lot going on in the Central Belt, I thought I would find out if there was any interest in starting a new group for walks, nights out, gigs, cinema, sports and more. It would be good to get a couple of smart cookies who can help set it up and arrange some kind of varied schedule of events and then we can take it from there! If you feel you would like to join, please get in touch!
So you've bought your bike, taken it out of the garage, feel a bit self-conscious, don't know where to go, feel a bit nervous of traffic, looks like it's going to rain later anyway ...maybe next week. So how about joining a cycling club? Eh?!!! I'll never keep up with them! Those guys are fanatics! What would they think of me? I'll be ridiculed! Do I look like a cyclist? Do these legs say 'cyclist'? Maybe when I've had a bit ...a lot more practice. It doesn't have to be this way. There i …
This is a group for anyone interested in getting out and about and doing fun stuff. This might include activities such as hiking, camping, mountain biking, road biking, skiing, climbing, kayaking... or anything else that seems like a good idea at the time! Join up and feel free to suggest any activity that you would like to see here!
It doesn't matter if you are new in the area or if you have ancestrial decent, the common bond needs to be a will to get out and about in the stunning countryside of Aberdeenshire. Examples of activities are: walking, hiking, running; but can be mountain biking and just exploring areas of interest in the Shire, this list is not conclusive if we want to do something as a group, we will. This is also a social group of people so if we want to go out now and again, we will. There are some great plac …

Since getting a game of basketball in Glasgow isn't the easiest of things, I thought I'd make this group. Hoping to organise regular games of pick up basketball every weekend in Victoria Park (probably the best street courts in Glasgow, and has 4 courts so there should always be at least one free). Probably half-court games, depending on numbers. You don't have to be great at basketball (I'm a casual player), just up for playing some proper games. Adults in their 20s/30s welcome (I'm 29). For an …
This is a group for anyone interested in playing football. It could be a 5-a-side game or a kick-about in the park. Just confirm you're coming to ensure numbers and there will be a waiting list if unexpected cancellations happen. But recurrent no-shows would serve a 2 game ban. Those are the rules, looking forward to some awesome games!
