Greater Burlington's source for adult team sports and recreation information
CVOWS is for swimmers who want to get out of the pool and into the outdoors this summer. We'll be exploring Lake Champlain and other lakes in the area with swimmers who are non-competitive, and who appreciate the beauty and freedom of open water and want to share it with others. Competitive swimmers are welcome, but our swims will be low-key and will be more about the open water experience than technique and speed. What kinds of swims will we be doing? Swimmers will be sharing their favorite pla …

Uniting young, like minded skiers and riders in the Champlain Valley/Burlington area with a common passion. Our home base will be Smuggs as it is probably the best season pass in the area but I expect expeditions to Bolton, Sugarbush, Jay and wherever adventure leads. All skill levels welcome as the organizer (me!) is a former instructor. Cost per lesson is 1 beer (prefer Otter Creek)! Target membership is 20-30 somethings. Summer activities to come. Locals, new-locals, frequent tourists and vis …
There's a lack of organization in the greater Burlington area when it comes to trail running, which makes no sense. We are surrounded by beautiful trails, mountains, hills, lakes, ponds, streams, meadows, and mud puddles just asking for us to play in and around them. The Long Trail Running Club is being organized to build a community of trail lovin' runners; providing us a place to communicate, coordinate, socialize, share stories, trail and race reports, and get dirty while doing something hea …
This group was created with the non-league bowler, the first time bowler, and the I-haven't-played-in-years bowler in mind. It provides an opportunity for people to get together and have a good time through a sport we all enjoy. Come solo or bring a buddy -- either way you'll meet some fun people and improve your game by a few pins (or more). Go ahead, RSVP. See you at the alley! --------------- So why "Buzzard"? A "buzzard" is bowling speak for three open frames in a row. The name emphasizes …

Believe it or not – the old-school recess game of kickball is now a growing national trend for…adults. The adult kickball craze is spreading across the country and is about to kick into high gear in Vermont through the only recognized kickball league in the world, the World Adult Kickball Association (WAKA)!
VT Lake Champlain Paddlers is a paddling group designed for "social" paddling with a group. In general, most paddles will be open to all types of kayaks and canoes, but some events may restrict boats to a certain type. We welcome paddlers of all skill levels to join us. Safety is a primary focus, and as such, paddlers MUST wear a PFD at all times while paddling with this group. This group operates trips under the Common Adventure Model (CAM). You can find details about the CAM model under the D …

To find people who love to play racquetball. We will organize round-robin matches and maybe even some tournaments.
We started this group to give organizers around the state a way to coordinate their pickup soccer groups while reaching the greatest number of people. This meetup should be able to cover any age group and any skill level, from never-played-before to former professionals. If you have a pickup league that meets regularly, please contact us and ask to become a co-organizer. We want as many groups as possible from around the state to join us so that we can share meetup information and give us all th …

Welcome to Burlington tennis meetup, the place to meet new tennis partners. We'll schedule a summer pic-nic or two, but don't expect that there will be many general meet-ups scheduled. Instead, contact other members direclty to arrange games. When we have enough people interested in a ladder, I'll get that organized. I'm asking folks to contribute $5/yr to be a member of the group. I hope that this will dissuade those folks who sign up for half-dozen groups only never to return, and motivate …

Come play dodgeball with other young professionals and have a blast! Coed, low competitiveness but lots of fun. Balls are a soft foam that you can throw accurately but won't hurt when hit. This group has been successfully meeting up for over 3 years now. Most people haven't played in years so all experience levels are welcome as we are not a competitive league, but love to meet new people and have a great time! www.vermontdodgeball.com -Dan
